The weekend before last I went to an underground party which was different in so many ways. Antitapas began somewhat as a houseparty of young people with Spanish background in Brussels and has worked its way up to being the biggest party in Brussels. Last time was its 3rd anniversairy and celebrated accordingly in Les Caves de Cureghem in Anderlecht. The location was amazing.
There were different stages for artists from various genres, a cake contest, free food and some stalls by handicrafters. For drinks, wardrobe and the night bus (one amazing thing: they organised a night bus every half hour to drive to the most populated areas in Brussels!) you will need to buy tickets with which you can then pay your beer etc. From the bands I enjoyed most Badzillus from Germany, The Summer Rebellion from Canada and the DJ Nasty Bartender from Belgium.
I felt a little uncomfortable at times in my chic black and white striped dress and heels, but had a fun time with my friends nonetheless. If you are leaning a little to the left and alternative side, you will really enjoy this.
The next Antitapas will happen on the 15 December in the Brussels Event Brewery – so a new location.
